Monterrey, NL., April 27th, 2009.- NIC Mexico (Network Information Center Mexico), reminds to all the interested the starting date of the reopening of domain name registrations directly under .MX, .MX Reopening officially starts on May 1st,2009. The reopening of .MX domain names registration, in addition to impulse .MX domains and promote the development of the Internet in Mexico, has the intention to broad the variety of the available services for NIC Mexico's clients. The registration directly under .MX TLD, offers attractive and relevant attributes for Internet users related with Mexico, such as shorter domain names, the possibility of not been restricted to a certain type of organization, and the direct identification with Mexico on the Internet, among others. It opens the possibility for users to register domain names such as "organization.mx", for example. As it has opportunely informed, the .MX reopening will be released in phases, through an ordered process; taking in consideration that it will give priority to the current holders of .MX domains under the current available classifications: .COM.MX, .NET.MX, .ORG.MX, .EDU.MX or .GOB.MX. This process is divided in 3 stages: Pre-Registration Period - Starts May 1st, 2009 Quiet Period Initial Registration Period The Pre-Registration Period is only open to holders(registrants) of .MX domain names under any of .MX current classifications and registered before March 1st, 2009. Those interested must send a request through their Accredited Registrar (in which they have registered the current .MX domain). The request must be sent through May 1st until July 31st, 2009.
