This is your last chance to save money. NIC Mexico to recognize the loyalty of the first ones who registered domain names directly under .MX, will compensate on the registration price, of 1 year coverage, all domain name registrations directly under .MX during July. Thus, to make up for the time in which such domains cannot be active, until September 1st of 2009. This effort will be held through all NIC Mexico Accredited Registrars.

On May 1st of 2009 Pre-Registration Period was started. In this phase only participates actual holders (registrants) of .MX domain names under any of the .MX current classifications (registered before March 1st, 2009). During this period holders can request the registration directly under .MX of exactly the same domain name registered under any of actual .MX classifications (.COM.MX, .NET.MX, .ORG.MX, .EDU.MX o .GOB.MX); in this phase priority will be given to the actual holders of .MX domains. Pre-Registration Period ends on July 31st, 2009.

In case of receiving more than one request for the same domain name, the domain name directly under .MX will be assigned to the oldest origin domain (with the creation date in NIC Mexico records) among those of the received applications. All the other applications for the same name will be denied. It is important to mention that application is required to be considered for the assignment.

Domain name registration directly under .MX is an option and it will not substitute any other classifications.
